Thanks Mac1.

Drag racing is all about the first 60 feet. This means you need lots of traction. In our cars you need to cover zero to 60 feet in 1.7 seconds or less to really find the potential of our cars in 1/4 mile racing. On my 10.89 run my 60' was 1.66 seconds which translated to 10.89 at the 1/4 mile mark.

That's what I meant when I said 1.6 or better 60' get you the good Elapsed Times.

Oops. That was a typo, I meant to type 1.6. I hope I didn't make it too complicated. LOL

Hi Zhound.

Have you got a site which give info about your car.

The mods you've done tips and tricks.

I would be a very interesting read. I'm currently rebuilding my eninge and now need to take on as much advice from the "people that have been there" as possible.

Is this the Greddy Turbo's with the Carbon Carbon clutch by any chance ?

Yes mate;)

 That was quick. The front end looks so light at the start.

What does a standard ZX do for the 1/4 mile? Anyone know?

That run was amazing, though it was going to do a back flip

about 13.5 init? IF you get a decent start

Well I don't really have anything too special. Just the stock motor with bigger turbos and support mods as you can see in my list of mods above. You just need sticky tires and lots of practice to launch hard. The car is tuned by Greg Dupree at SpecialtyZ(specialtyz.com) in Southern California. We have at least five 10 second cars just from this shop. And there are countless 11 second cars even with stock turbos.

You can tune the suspension to help the front end come up on the launch. With stock shocks I just disconnect the front shocks after switching them to the soft setting. Then I leave the rears on the firm setting. This helps the frontend to come up on the launch and transfer the weight to the rear tires to help with traction. This works ok with stock shocks but if you had an adjustable aftermarket suspension you can really fine tune it and get even better 60' out of it.

not a hope in hell, more like 14.5

nah that cant be right, my little rally slag (its a nova, sue me), pulls low 14 1/4s and a standard Z leaves that thing behind

A good driver can pull high 13s with stock TTZ if its running right.

What if it's auto, don't you just plant your right foot and hang on? ;)
