Had a little bit of fun on the way back from a party on Saturday night with a mate in his Cooper S.

I thought it would be a forgone conclusion as he has a lot less power and 2 more people in the car and he is no more of a Schumacher than I am! How wrong was I!!!

It seemed that he was so much quicker out of the corners and I only started winding him back in when we reached 60mph. He never got away from me but I was never in a position to take him either.

To be fair on myself these were quite narrow B roads with the odd roundabout thrown in.

You guys reckon I should be ashamed by this because I do?

Time for 15 psi methinks!

I` ve got a mini as a company car, not a cooper tho. they are wicked in the bends, seem to hold on the worst corners. If the roads where straight then you work have had another road kill. :)

Yeah, true Mickey,

I guess the 'S' is a quicker car from A to B.

I will have to demand a rematch on some nice A roads next time!

Got a Cooper and a Copper at home Do not!! think these cars are slow...if ya know what ya doing it aint much work to get them up to works BHP......;)

The are wide and low and with big fat tyres for grip in corners, power to weight is good too, driven by girly hairdressers too who weigh less and their girlie friends too...dont feel so bad

That calls for higher boost and TC matey :D my car corners like its on rails with TC on 5% slip totally transformed the car.

Yeah,,,tou can get a metal handbrake thing....spotlamps, ally foot rest, decals for the roof...

feel the rush....

hehehe

Cath (my girlfriend) has a MINI Cooper and I think the engine is totally unresponsive. It only actually get power over 4000 rpm. It handles very well around corners and very responsive.

It is one of the better cars at handling, but I found it sliding at corners where I would go round with my Z with little problem. I also found that cornering on uneven roads, the car would bounce round corners.

I think you should get some driving lessons mate. Or your friend is a lot better driver than you are ;) hehehe

Wish I could blame my driving but he has never beaten me on the Kart track!

Reckon I need to get rid of the crap jap rubber and soften the shocks up a bit to ride the bumps better. 400bhp and traction control would come in handy aswell! LOL

In my defence my girlfriend was screaming all sorts of things at me whilst I was after him so felt I had to hold back a little bit to calm her down! Think she is a pretty good example of why there is no women in top level motorsports!

Justin :p

if it was an old cooper youd be fooked. best cornereing car ever.

I was watching something when they raced the new MINI Cooper works with an old one round a track. The Old one beat it to the first corner, but then threw a valve :(
