Safety boost

Guys,

My car has gone into safety boost but why?

It is a case of removing the ECU for an hour to reset it isnt it?

Mark. :duffer:

Andy, def has a fuel leak as I can smell it sometimes......mmmm its all coming together....I will take the car over to the missus dads garage at the weekend and get it up on the ramps to look for a leak, def smell it at times....

Boost control solenoid thing, is that the little black apexi box located near the drivers side bulhead in the engine bay, I will take a pic at dinner to clarify this. I will also get these ECU codes......

Timing set correctly, nto sure, ut had acambelt change about 1000 miles ago but I need to get a garage to check this for me.

Fuel filter, I dont think so, I will check my service records but I dont think it has? Can I do this, is it easy?

I think I need to go to one of these rolling road day to get it looked at properly, the Thor one would be great but its full by the looks of it. :(

Without sounding like a broken record...... ;)

The car should ALWAYS be in 100% working order before any performance mods are installed OR used :) If you are running an uprated car, then you need to uprate the maintanance as well, and do more frequent checks on the general running condition of the car.

Enough of that now :D

Ok sort the fuel leak first, do the filter at the same time. Best bet would be to renew all the fuel hoses from the fuel filter onwards. Fuel filters are cheap too (makes a refreshing change :D)

Solenoid, yeah its the one in the engine bay - there should be a connector on the lead very close to it, pull it apart and reconnect. I've seen it once before where the connector was not fully together and was causing intermittent boost.

If after all this you are still having problems, its time to check the timing and possibly check that the cambelt hasn't slipped a tooth or two...

HTH

CheerZ,
