Now that I've changed jobs I have a 50 mile round trip to work (until I move, that is..... ;) ) and I didn't want to kill my zed doing that each day.

 

So I've been toying with the idea of selling it and getting a newer car (eg Jag XK8 or Merc CLK), or keeping the Zed and buying another daily driver (say merc SLK - I know :o but at least my wife can drive that too...)

 

question is, as the CLK (older shape - say Y reg) is available in 430 V8 variant, what is it like? BHP, performance etc. Not fussed about fuel economy or running costs (I'm used to the zed..... :D ), just want comfort and decent performance. I don't fancy the 230komp or 320 - too slow ;)

hi bud. nice spec the 430's. not quite up to zed performance bud still ;)

400Nm torque @ 3000-4400rpm

0-62mph in 6.4

155mph (limited)

 

av mpg 24.4 (33.6 cruising)

ps plug change is at 54k miles. 16 plugs, around £300 in parts & labour at a dealer!!

 

full b service would be £900 ish inc plugs, air & fuel due @ 48k miles.

 

so take that into account when haggleing ;)

Just called the dealer to arrange test drive and he's just sold it..... :slap:

 

Never mind, I'm still undecided - especially as the ZX is soooo good for my journey to work. Nice (mostly) straight A road, perfect for exploiting its overtaking ability ;)

 

PLus the ZX is way better looking :bow:
