Headlight bulb code???

In need of someones expertise again.

My headlight bulb has blown on my import Zed.

I am going to have a go at converting it to take the UK bulbs. Can't believe the price of the Jap spec ones (£18 each! ) so feel it will be worth it.

I just need to know what the bulb code is in Halfords. I looked in the little booklet and it said it was 448. the thing is its only a single prong bulb and I though the ones I needed were 2 prong. Its also only 55 watt. Seems a bit low to me.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Justin

Justin, have a look at these two threads mate, they may be of use to you, although I cant remember the exact Halfords code number

Cheers for that Dave,

By the looks of the pics I have got main beam bulbs so not a good start.

I best be off to Hafords and see if they can find the code on their computer.

Justin

Justin, you dont need the code, you simply need an H3 bulb, either Standard, Blue, 30% brighter or 50% brighter

Like this one,

Oh right, I guess I can get one of those from any motor factors then?

Thanks Dave,

Justin

Yep, as long as you are doing the earthing wire mod. And it really is as simple as it sounds. Try to find a local domestic appliance type shop, one that mends appliances in shop, and buy a short length of single core, heat resistant, cooker wire..... Job done :D
