With Mark Hanley (Topless) standing down as Club Secretary the Club needs to find a replacement. As a member of the Club’s committee the Secretary is an important position and requires a proactive individual who can devote the time and energy to successfully carry out the role. The Secretary’s responsibilities include:
* Keeping the minutes of committee and Club meetings and circulating these to the members. Sending out notices of all meetings and preparing and distributing the agendas in advance.
* Dealing with all non-specialist matters and correspondence on the Club’s behalf and diverting to the correct official any matters requiring specialist attention. Keeping records of all correspondence to and from the Club.
* Acting as a central contact for other organisations or individuals to contact the Club.
* Custodian of the Club’s constitution and all other official Club documents.
Nominations are now invited for candidates for the position of Club Secretary for the election by full members by forum poll starting on the 12th July and finishing on the 23rd July. The successful candidate will be announced in time for Billing and the AGM.
The nominations are open to candidates who are full (subscribed) members of the Club. Prospective candidates should nominate themselves in this post and must include the names of two other full members who support the nomination. The prospective candidate must also supply via PM to the Club Chairman (AndrewG) a short statement of why they feel that they are suitable for the role. When the election starts on the 12th July the forum poll will include the list of candidates along with their statements for the role. Voting members can then read and decide.
