Fuel Economy??? Yeah right!

Lads and Laddess' alike,

I know we haven't bought our ZX's for their amazing fuel economy figures but I am curious to know what the average mileage is from a full tank of fuel on the TTs.

Obviously you who need new tyres every 6 months will be counting gallons to the mile instead of the other way round but I am only interested in the normal figures including warm up and cool down tick over time.

Does about 20mpg sound right?

So am I to asume that the second half of the gauge cover the majority of the miles?

Do you mean second half when topping up or emptying??? In other words top half or bottom half?? biggrin.gif

I think I have the record for the lowest mpg as anybody who saw my car after the track time at trax will vouch for biggrin.gif Did 5 laps on 3/4 of a tank of fuel biggrin.gif Granted most of it was used to clean the circuit wink.gif Maybe it was a sneaky plan to take the supras off the circuit LMAO biggrin.gif

Actually the filler neck was more like guaze than a solid tube due to the evil rust biggrin.gif Hey, at least I'm smiling about it biggrin.gif Worst thing was I'd just filled up with optimax!!!

CheerZ,

OK guys panic over.

The import twats removed the conversion kit because it screwed up the HICAS and PAS.

They then changed the speedo for one which only reads to 120MPH, which obviuosly didnt need any conversion. Hence my trip meter etc is in KMS, found out this weekend when I visited the folks. I know this trip is 80miles, and my car showed 128, which is obviously KMS.

Anyway cars going back because I was not happy with the 120MPH gauge, when my original was the 180KPH converted to MPH.

Anyway the upshot is the car does 300miles to a tank or 480KM, which ever you prefer!!!

Leigh.

Think I saw you the other night Leigh - shame I was in the Ren.. frown.gif

Anyway thank you for reminding me to sort out my speedo smile.gif

A mate of mine fitted an ecotek valve (well two actually being a 3ltr car) into his GTO and rekons his mpg is greatly improved; think he said was geting about 17-20mpg on normal type driving now says gets about 21-24 mpg and his car responds even quicker

Any thoughts on ecotek for the zed?

The EcoTek would be shut most of the time - they turn off when under boost... (Unless you drive like a granny!)..

Plus I have my reservations on these when applied to highly tuned (esp. turbocharged) cars - because they weaken the fuel mixture (ok, only slightly, but that's more than I want my mixture leaning!)...
