Picked up what I think is a bit of a bargain yesterday. A brand new momo tuner wheel for 80 quid :D I haven't got the boss yet but had a quick look at removing the old wheel. I dont want to damage it or the steering column or anything in the process. Has anyone got any top tips? I guess there is a special puller to do the job by the looks of the two threaded holes either side of the nut. Has anyone made a tool to do this?

Cheers

What I did was undo the nut until it was only on by a couple of threads and give it a good pull. leave the nut on to prevent any steering wheel in face type moments :)

You could probably hire a puller, When I was in the trade we did as jock says and leave the nut on. Sometimes the wheel wont just pull off so you might have to whack the column spindle with a hammer as you are pulling the steering wheel up. The nut then serves 2 purposes...stops you breaking your nose, stops you knackering the threads, just make sure the nut is flush on the column.. Had te realign mine the other day as HICAS light kept comming on. I read it was due to a sensor on the steering boss, problem solved,

Cheers,

Was just concerned that I might cause damage to the steering column but it sounds like you reckon it can take that sort of abuse without any problems. I'll give it a go.

Can't wait to see new wheel on the car! :D
