October 8, 200124 yr Hey hi, I recently changed all 4 tyres and went from what I think were cheap tyres to 4 new Bridgestone S03 with standard setting for a UK car which is 225 front and 245 back (17" all around). They rock. On Sunday I was coming back from Birmingham and it was really really bad. All the way to Derby there was a thick wall of Water dropping on the motorway... My tyres made it possible to get back home, I'm sure if I still had the old ones I would have had to drive at around 40MPH. Instead I was doing 70mph and it felt solid enough. I went over 4 padles of water and the aquaplaning was ok. With less water on the old tyres I had really scary aquaplaning reaction!!! I was of course without traction control so I didn't even think to go over 70mph because I think the bigger your tyres (like 18") the worse your aquaplaning can be. It costed me something between £500 and £550 for the 4 tyres fitted and balanced. If you can I would get all 4 tyres of the same make. Maybe change all 4 and keep the 2 front ones as spare tyres in for later on?... expensive but to consider. Tyres can save you life. My little unprofessional thought! Later
October 8, 200124 yr Deano, Hows things matey? Erm, tyres........ I have a receipt from preious owner of the Z and he had 'Fulda' tyres put on and they seem okay to me, no problems at all. Only 1 sideways incident and that was me rushing and pushing the limit too far!! The tyres cost him £190 for the 2 rears. There was a post on here about a week ago about tyres and there was a place online that did a great deal on tyre's, have a look on the search option. Hope that helps! Matty. ------------------ Am gonna be gettin one of those, one day...(sigh) :D
