Had a bit of an ususual siteing last night on the Formby bypass.

 

Was waiting at the lights by Tescos and what comes flying past at atleast 130mph but a V6 Vauxhall Cavelear (spelling).

 

Bearing in mind the lights were on red and cars crossing the junction this vauxhall just flew past followed very closely by a police van. It was a hell of a site. Quite frightening to watch as he flew past me in the next lane just missing cars which where crossing the junction.

 

Im guessing the car was nicked but what a :xxx: . If he would have hit another car then its byebye everyone at the speed he was going.

 

Just wandering if anyone else round here heard about this atall and it came as a big shock to me.

It was 1 of those yellow camera vans, not the huge ones but the slightly smaller ones. They must have been going atleast 120 anyway. Was quite a site.

Was probably a police training exercise!!

Chasing a Cavalier with a HUGE spoiler and exhaust and blacked out windows through a red light at 120+mph on a Saturday night at 11:15 with quite a few cars around?

What colour was the Cav mate? Hoping it's not somebody I know

Yep, they have to make it as real as possible even if it means innocent public getting killed, I expect the police van giving chase had to catch the cavalier to issue a dummy speeding ticket, training for this is essential police policy.

IIRC Alex it was dark red. I could be wrong though.

they were probably chasing him because he must have a had a private plate that wasnt quite just right as happened to me ..........30 quid fine... tossers.... police should be out catching smack heads and dope dealers but then again the motorist is SUCH an easy target .........
