How much you willing to spend? A lot of laptops have wireless built in and I have yet to see a laptop which doesnt have an PCMIA slots.

youre an IT tecchy bod and youre asking US for laptop info LMFAO!!!!!

I like Sony VAIO but they are a little expensive. Probably the best you can get out there but you pay a lot just for the name.

There customer services have a lot to be desired. Cath bought a VAIO about 2 years ago. Nothing too special but it cost just under a grand.

It ran for about 3 days and then the screen went white and wouldnt come back.

So I rang the place I bought it from and they said ring Sony, so I did. I was told that they cant help me until I register it and I can register it now. So I did, then I was asked what the problem was and I told them. They could fix it, but it meant the computer would have to be sent away between 6 and 8 weeks and if they couldnt fix it I would get a reconditioned one.

I told them that it wasnt on, as the laptop was only bought 3 days ago for about £1000, and now I will have to wait 6-8 weeks to get it fixed and even then I may get a used one.

After many phone calls and hours of argument they still wouldnt back down. I had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a possible 2nd hand replacment for my £1000 3 day old laptop.

In the end Scan, the place I bought it from, agreed that they would swap it.

So just a word of warning mate. If anything goes wrong, Sony only look after their profits.

Just bought the top of the Range one from http://www.tiny.com it's got everything on it for £1,139 inc vat and shipping.

Mike, I've got the tiny Sony Vaio and its excellent but the hard drive just failed on it :(

It's got everything built in - wireless, bluetooth, modem, DVD/CD-RW, USB, Firewire, webcam.

But... it's only got 1 of the small PCMCIA slots.

I got a Sony Vaio P4m - Wish I had went for the centrino opposed to the mobile P4 processor though for battery life. Apart from that - I love it.
