on the way home from work come up behind an evo 8 who was waiting for the car in front to pull out of the fast lane. were both doing about 40, car moves out the way both me and evo floor it and to my suprise i matched him. there were 2 in his car and 1 in mine. both turned off into sainsburys parked next to each other and he asked what mods i had. explained mine is stock apart from the zorts and he was shocked how i kept with him. the funny bit was when a kiddy in a kitted up mr2 tried to join in untill he noticed what he was up against lol

The Evo makes similar power I think.

It's lighter but the four wheel drive system must sap a bit of the power.

look at the bhp figures on a rolling road at 40mph the z comes into its own and is very quick get on the twistys and an evo comes in to its own unless u got traction con and good rubber u aint gona catch it!eat scoobys and evos on straights no probs its the corners i hate :cry: :)

My MR2 turbo is quicker than the Z on the short & twistys. ;)

Yeah it's the 0-40 bit they'll kill you on...

The Evo7 will make the MR2 look like an over weight transit van on the twistys;)

I out ran my friends evo 7 FQ300 in a straight line easily

but round the twisty wet bends - no chance

it was just a normal evo 8, mind you it was only 4 months old so i guess his engine was still a bit tight

engine was still a bit tight

 

 

a virgin evo needed to be broke in :p
