One of the two connectors on the IAA unit - the white one.

Wiggle wiggle wiggle CLICK HISS lovely smooth idle, wiggle it some more CLICK hissing stops engine really struggles. The reason I thought I might have dodgy connections elsewhere is because there are two coil pack connectors and the TPS connector all in the same outer casing - so if I wiggle any of those it actually wiggles this white connector!

Is this the AAC connector or is that the yellow one?

Don't think it's owt to do with FICD because I have similar probs whether A/C turned on or off. None of those hoses are cracked or split - just took them all off for a good look-see whilst they were warm.

I've searched 'ere for AAC - lots of posts saying "it might be yer AAC" but nothing to specifically answer my question here. I've cleaned the contacts but no improvement really, so I think I need a new connector, so...

Does anyone know the part number? Or have any other advice? Is this connector a red herring?

What was the idle problem mate? Do you have a pic of this connector?

Ivan

Idle problem happens warm or cold and AC on or not - and it's just that the engine stalls. It's not ALL the time, and when it's behaving I get a lovely smooth 750 - but sometimes I have to do a little dance in the footwell to keep the engine running when pulling up to lights, or particularly when getting into tight parking spots. Usually the first time it happens is after heavy braking - but once it's happened once that seems to be it for the rest of the day...

No smoking exhaust at any point!

Hhmmmm mine dies a bit at junctions. Nearly dies completly. Sometimes does. Wonder if it's the same problem. Do you have a pic of the connector or can you point it out on the FAQ engine by numbers section? Mine seems to have a rough idle and wonder if this is causing it. Did you hear the hissing with the engine on or off?

Couldn't find me camera last night otherwise I would have done. Can't see it on engine by numbers because there's not enough detail - and you have to have your head over the IAA assembly looking straight down to be able to see it anyway. It's in the region of 26/27 - there's an elbow-shaped pipe connected to the IAA. The top of the IAA is a round thing about 10p sized, but smooth - which has 1inch vac hose connected to both sides of it. If you look between that and the firewall you'll see the connector I'm on about.

Now I look at engine by nums, it could actually be the det sensor or the passenger O2 sensor I'm playing with...

Hissing is with engine on - but it's obviously not a permanent leak, because as I say it stops when the wire is wiggled.

Seemed alright today - maybe me cleaning connector and recrimping it a bit has sorted it
