Hi

I've just bought some rear lights that I'm gonna have a go at clearing the indicators a la 99 spec.

But I cant find the write up on how to clear them, you know - the one with the oven lol. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers

Pete

Pete, I was about to order a couple of sets from the bloke selling the inserts in the US $27 or summink. Basically I'd have two sets coming for $68 inc delivery, (bout £35) thats £17.50 odd, each if you want me to get you a set?

Or are you thinking of buying a sheet of diffuser and doing em yourself? :) I thought about doing this, are the rear lenses any 'special' kind of not readily available diffuser?

Read somewhere that some guy used de-fusers from a florescent light fitting. The textured 'Checkered' bit. But cant remeber where i read that now :slap:

hehe, same, when I used to cut the diffuser in my old old work place, and it cracked/shattered like a bugger. I'll order you up a set :)

£35 between us, so that'll be 17.50 :D

ooof post just dissapeared, im a muppet just read properly that you wanted two sets, no extra postage mate, so £30 should cover two sets :) In fact im gonna get two sets meself. :)

LOL Just sent ya a PM, yep 2 sets :D You sure no extra postage - you know what these US co's are like...

If anyone is succesful with these i would be interested in giving you my stock lights in part ex against clear ones ?!

When I fitted mine, I had a good look at the inserts. I wish I had tried to make my own first as they dont look hard to make.

They llok like std flourescent light fittings. Perhaps if you have an old rear light you can split and trace the outline of the amber onto an old diffuser. I *think* someone told me to use a tile saw?? which *should* cut a diffuser ok.

Then just buy 2 orange bulbs and your sorted :)

I've got a second set of lights coming, with a view to doing this also. Are there no companies in this country that do these?

How much Mike? Save the hassle of sending to US, I know that me and pete want two sets each :D

I have a spare set of rear lights for sale if anyone wants them £50 the set & P&P (and they are mint condition too, no cracks etc.)

Mike if you can do clear rear lights can you PM me with a price for them please mate (monday or whenever) - cheers

if you go for the diffuser use a grinder to cut them out, have do this on both cars. When fitting the light back into the car just put the light in the oven for a few minutes to soften the black shit up and they will fit a lot better found this out on the second car (wifes)

Can the red parts be done too? I know "Harrys" do red LED stop n tail light bulbs. It would look the nuts! :)

Mike! any news?

I did both my red and amber sections with flourescent diffuser. I clamped them to the bench and used my electric saw to cut them. I haven't taken the car for an MOT so I'm not sure if they're road legal.
