The team is fine. Getting a manager with ambition and spirit is the problem. :(

i hate to say it but we need Booby Back or even Terry Venables, although he is an untrustworhty person he was a good manager. Failing that What about giving Reidy a go at it he can't do any worse than any of the others. At least he has a set a of Balls!

Dave IMHO the team is far from fine! as soon as anyone scores an equaliser against us you just know it's game over!

He Has a point! But Ashley Cole was outstanding tonight shame no one else turned up to the match!

LOL well Terry Vegtable and Reidy have got serious pedagree to lead England PMSL

sorry being thick? PMSL

Nothing Wrong with Sven, Nothing wrong with our players.

We were robbed in the 2nd half. It's just the way it goes. World cup in two years ;)

NUFF SAID!!

Reidy did well at sunderland he got them promoted 2 times, he can only motivate the players so much. I am a sunderland supporter and i think that the season we went down was down to the players lack of discipline and commitment. As for Leeds he inherited a a ship with holes in it and only a teasponn to bail out with!

What? So it was neither the team nor Sven that decided we should spend most of the second half defending as we had done in the first half?

We're a better team than Portugal but we decided that scoring a goal after 3 minutes was enough to allow us to defend for most of the rest of the game. It was just a matter of time before they scored and we did well to change the game plan and get to penalties once we were 2-1 down.

James what a total spanner, any time the ball goes near the goal he is a liabilty!

Dave me too and never missed a game for three years when we broke the Division 1 record,But Reidy is why Sunderland are so much in the red now,He wasted serious cash on complete planks.

but we aren't in the red and haven't been for a few months now it was announced that we had cleared our £35m debt from going down. he bought a couple of dogy players that you couldn't get air miles for! ie Stewart and Flo that was our downfall.

i tell u who i like the look of to be a good player for the future and that's Tommy Smith. reminds me a bit of skoshear ( spelt wrong i know ) Super Sub!

Mind u Joe cole reminds me a bit of the one midfield Maestro who played with his heart on his sleeve! GAZZA, and i hate to say it we miss someone like him.

LOL I looked after Gazza last year when he came in the nightclub where I worked and he gave me a £50 note :o Top bloke and really funny.

Gazza is my hero, he played with more passion, energy, flare and balls than all of the england team tonight. shame his career ended the way it did, thought he might be able to cut it one last season. probably could too.... the one down side to him was that he was high maintenance. :duffer:

Gazza

Gazza

Yea and the goal he scored against the Jocks at Wembley      Must rate at one of the best England goals ever!

Try telling Gazza to spend 75 minutes defending! I suspect he'd tell you to f*ck off as the rest of the players should have done! :xxx:
