not too sure what hoses you are on about, but they sound like vacume hoses from the turbo.

I think you mean the EGR ones. Are they long quite long and loop round most of the plenum?

 

Mine where blocked up too but didnt really effect the idle.

Any chance of the pics you are talking about ? Starting to sound like PCV's to me

It's not the pcv did them early in the year the ones I'am talking about are between them and the t/b
