I was told to ring up and ask on the progress of the order or my K&N filter. I did, where the guy phoned up K&N in Warrington. Hmmmmm they have none in stock. 4-6 weeks to ship one from the US. Agggghhhh. OK. Whos hogging all the K&N filters?

I have 2 from my old car, and one that came with my Z, I'm going to be replacing akimoto air filters tho, K&N filters are'nt as good as they say

I was told exactly the same thing when I enquired about K&N filters ... what a rip-off!

Anyway, it is much easier to shop for it directly in the States and much cheaper. I found a guy in Calif. who is sending me a JWT kit (basically a rebadged K&N) for USD 80 plus USD 13 p+p. I hope that it has all the bits to it and when I receive it (in two weeks or so) I'll let you know - perhaps you'd like to order from the same source.

In the meantime, good luck. You might also want to try looking at breakers - I heard that through some stroke of luck someone got one for 20 squids off a wrecked ZX! Some people have all the luck ...

Hey Stu, I had exactly the same problem - 6 week wait, and they send the WRONG bloody one!!! So, called Johnny at GH, and I had an HKS, (for less money) the next day!

Nah, don't bother with the K&N The HKS or the Blitz are what to go for. Johnny is yer man for this and should be able to supply MUCH sooner

BTW, what was the outcome with the HICAS stuart?

What part of the HICAS. Did a diag, and all it said was No Rear Wheel Output. But I know that cos it has been disabled. Handles better I have heared from people. No other errors. I am gonna do a full powersteering oil change soon see if that does anything. Seems to be going, its not done it tonight. I think it is some sort of blockage, hence the steering oil change

B) BlitZ Supra is enough for me on its own

Hmmm, well I read that as the K&N being the best. - The first two look like replacement filters to me and as one of the restrictions of the Z is the twirly tubing before the air hits the filter then that is not particuarly desirable. The K&N gains 13ps (nearly 13bhp) and has good filtering. The next two, HKS & Blitz both have a marginally higher power gain and both have shite filtering.

Furthermore as the K&N is waterproof(ish) then that has to be a bonus, given it's positioning on the Z.

Shame the the Blitz jobbie that Tim has bought, with the stainless steel mesh isn't reviewed. I suspect the power gain will be good and the filtering will be crap - anything smaller than a seagull going straing thru !!!
