When the turbos kick in around 3-4000 Rpm the clutch slips, this has gradually gotten worse it used to just happen when putting the foot down in 5th gear.

Is this just the clutch?

Where would i get a quite cheap clutch from?

Cheers

i would imagine chrisc is right but for a cheap clutch you could try these people about £90+vat ram@carparts-warehouse.co.uk but your probably best to pay £300+ for a good clutch rks street clutch etc im ordering one in the next few weeks good if your modding your z for more power :)

Thanks ChrisC,

How do you know it's not the clutch? And how easy is it to fix?

There is not much of a clutch pedal left, will ajusting the shaft going into the master cylinder help?

Any online instructions and any idea where i would buy the parts needed?

Cheers

I'm not familiar with chris's suggestion but if that seems ok try the following:

Stick it in 5th gear at 30mph and put your foot down. Do the revs rise but the car doesn't go fast ?.

If yes then the clutch is slipping.

Is it worst when the car is warm ?, Is the biting point of the clutch near the top of the pedal ?

If yes then try adjusting your clutch pedal so the biting point is lower down.

Does it still slip now ?

check to make sure you have enough fluid in your resovoiur

Fluid ok but still slipping ?

looks like you need anew clutch.

stu, you drove my car and it seemed like the clutch, however those tests fail to hightlight the problem

This is exactly what was happening to mine before I had my RPS jobbie. If you are running higher boost, unfortunately, a cheap clutch won't last very long. What I would do first is adjust the pin under the dash.

Infact, I have been doing this tonight but that's another story.

The clutch does not slip when i put the foot down in 5th gear, it does it cold or warm and the bitting point is near the bottom of the pedal.

Also the clutch fluid is ok.

Does this still sound like the clutch?

If you haven't already, I would do a good load of bleeding(not personally ofcourse), and if it's the same, I would change the clutch.

It sounds exactly like what I was experiencing.

How did you get on with ajusting the pin? Is it located at the drivers footwell?

Cheers

Paul

yes - its not brill but I would get yourself a good torch.
