anyone got it?

been looking at it for ages, but some good deals about now so decided to bite the bullet and order, can now put the old diggy box in my lads room

stop him keep asking for it to be turned over, and the moving is free, as part of the package

questions

i know the sky+ still is "supposed" to be plugged into the phone, but when they move my old diggy box into his room, is it still supposed to be plugged in?

if so, my lad has his own phone line/broadband, so can it go into his line

as its a different phone number to ours?

if the answers to that is yes i must plug into our phone line, can i just run an extension to his room until the engineer has been and gone?

the sky+ states you can download stuff from the h/d to an external source,

so if i wanted to take stuff straight to a dvd recorder will it be macro enabled?? or will it just be box office stuff

and lastly cos it pauses live telly, can i help england win euro 2004 by pausing rewinding and then ring sven up to tell him whats about to happen lmao

Don't know the in's and out's of the Sky + box, but I know that for the normal boxes you only need a phone line plugged in if you are going to watch a pay movie on Box Office, or if you are a REAL SAD CASE AND WANT TO PRESS THE RED BUTTON! HTH!

ok cheers m8, i'll assume its the same reason why they want it plugged in for sky+

had sky for *** years lol and never bought a movie yet, but subscribed to the wrestling for the lad a few times, another "feature" of sky+ is if you book a movie, and 7 days later you havnt watched it, it is then deleted from the hard drive and you don't pay, so they must know what your up to

i have recorded the wrestling to dvd for him, just makes me wonder if they could stop that??

Apparently they do check every so often to make sure that both boxes are connected to the same phone line. This is to stop you paying the extra tenner (or is it £12?) for a second box and hiring out the card and box to your neighbour...

just an update for info

had this installed yesterday, and both boxes have to go to the SAME phone line, not a great problem just ran an extension to me lads room until he had installed.

nice bit of kit SO FAR, record two things at once ie running at the same time

obviously it enables you to pause live tv, and then resume or fast forward to catch up, if you come in say half way through top gear etc, and press record

it enables you to record FROM THE BEGINNING:)

im sure theres lots more i havn't found YET lol
