Bit of a bodywork novice and I was wondering what is the correct primer and method for respraying your windscreen wipers, do they need rubbing down etc.?

- Have a good rubdown with some 600 grit wet n dry

- Wipe over with thinners / brake fluid

- Couple of light coats of primer

- Couple of light costs of satin finish black

- Leave to cure, then fit to car and admire your handy work :)

Hope this helps

Simon.

i just sanded em down with some sandpaper i found, and sprayed them with some random black spraypaint i found. Looks good :p

it looks superb Clarkey, but it chips off really quick. :(

I'm about to do mine again, going to try Satin Aerosol Hammerite this time as it's quite flexible, normal celulose is too brittle so chips easily.

I imagine 2 Pack, anodizing or powder coating are the best options.

Mark FFS don't get chrome ones. LOL

They also do the cute wee 4 bladed things, :xxx: that you see Astra owners with on the rear as well as the front !!

Sounds a bit gay to me, where's chrisc and big roy when they are needed :D

LOL, maybe you answered your own question there. :D

to keep paint on, first rub down with 400 grit wet&dry then you need an etching primer which keys into the metal (looks clear) then primer then paint .this way it won't come off especially if your painting over the chrome bits
