Hehehe

I dont have time to protest.

Oil prices have gone up, but 2p tax was put on a few weeks ago and another 1.92p (Basically 2p) is going on again in September.

Well am p1ssed off with having to pay 88.9 pence per litre for Optimax for the Mister Two but I have downsized a whole litre in engine size and halved the weight of the blue whale that is the Z! Plus the Z hasn't done f\/ck all in ages so that isn't a problem...but in answer to your question...yep, well hacked off with it! Protest away! ;)

I know. I wondered where the post went to then realised that I posted about changing to left hand drive on the petrol post. ;)

I think we should all pop down to the local showrooms and buy realy crappy cars. and just dump the buggers when they run out of fuel. can you imagine what a mess a few cars would do on the roads leading up to the m25?

Yep protests are coming, the extra tax the chancellor gets from the rise of the cost of a gallon outways what he wants to add in september anyway, but they're stubborn and will still add it. 300% tax is a farce. Does Labour not want to win another term i wonder?

Well put it this way, I've started using my credit card for petrol   :(

Thieving chancellor b^stad- ggrrrrr

Yep, filled her up yesterday and it was £50 FFS!!!

Might have to stop using her everyday if this carries on!!

Yesterday, I filled it with 37 liters costing 49.96 (1.339E/L)

37 liters is 8.1 Gallons costing 33 Pounds.

The petrol is Superplus (Euro98)

Is the dutch petrol more expensive then the english petrol?

The car is getting 28 mpg (with me driving), is this about the same as a 300ZX TT/NA?

I'm just trying to get an idea about the costs petrolwise.

Yeah thats about the same price as here, some rip-off garages are charging more .

I have friends in holland and they say normal unleaded is about 1.65 euros! so about £1.10 a litre... do you think that perhaps that now were in with europe it'll simply level up to what they pay in europe? sayingthat isnt france quite a bit cheaper?

It's really fookin annoying, I'd have to get two buses to travel 3 miles to work. I need a bloody car as I'm sure do many other people, so why are they punishing motorists all the time? Why not get revenue from somewhere else FFS! I'd rather have a penny on income tax than all these other forms of tax & bloody speed cameras!

Why don't they put tax on public transport? :D

Been mostly driving my crappy Xantia recently and it does 35mpg..... RESULT !

Why don't they put tax on public transport? :D

They do - VAT!

Luckily I have a flexible friend, called a company fuel card. :)

cheerz, mickey

Even the yanks have started complaining about the cost of fuel and they pay well less than us!!!

France is quite a bit cheaper than us, and I remember filling up with 99octane Shell 3YEARS AGO in Italy (think it was the precursor to Optimax) for the same price that premium unleaded was in this country at that time.

Conclusion - we are being screwed.

Thing is I don't reckon the blockade tactics are fair. It aint the oil companies that are screwing us - its our own bloody government!!!

But how else can you get through to the government?

So they say they may not add 2p more tax in September - BIG DEAL!!!

I think the lorry drivers should demand fuel tax be cut from 300% to 200% , jesus thats still £2 tax on every gallon, although a slightly more acceptable rate of extortion!

When the government say no, lorry drivers should all have a weeks holiday at the same time, i think this would be quite effective.

Then they should demand the 40mph speed limit on A/B roads be raised and if it isnt they'll have 2 weeks holiday at the same time!!

One problem is that the lorry drivers don't really give a t*ss about the price of fuel for car drivers. They'll be more than happy to settle for a rebate system just for them and leave us to pay the full price. :xxx:

actually it is also the garages who are screwing us

check out the AA petrol price checker for your area

i price checked a few garages in my area and there was 5p a difference per litre, scotland wales etc rural areas are being ripped big style, almost £1 a litre, one garage in chelsea is charging £1-12p :(

there's no arguement petrol tax has always been a rip-off, as it is about 70%-75% depending on what you drive, back in 1998 tax was 83%

heres the cruncher and one of the main reasons why the uk WANTS high oil prices, the uk amongst the other eu countries is THE major oil exporter

and the pound at the moment is high against the euro, so high oil prices more cash for the uk, im sure i read that the oil industry in the uk employs about THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND people, so don't expect any uk goverment to try to hard to drive down oil prices, especially as north sea oil has a limited life

now if you were in business selling say jeans and had bought your stock for a year, would you be lobbying the major suppliers to drop their prices, knowing it would mean you have to sell cheaper????

i'd still like to know why as we produce oil, why ours isn't cheaper??

and for those green party/friends of the earth lovers they want HIGHER fuel prices
