Bought my first 300zx a few weeks ago ('92 manual import), needless to say i'm quite enjoying it! ;) one question tho, the gearbox started to get a little noisey about a week ago - like a worn bearings type of noise, but u can only hear it in 1st & 2nd. I checked the gearbox oil and it seemed fine. Kinda strikes me as a bit odd as it seemed to happen over quite a short space of time. Has anyone had this or does anyone have any advice on this?

Lift the centre console trim and check the rubber boot around the gearstick. These are known for either splitting or coming away along one edge and when in the extremes you can hear the road noise...
