I have a load of video that I have taped using my digital 8 Sony video camera and I want to burn all of what I have recorded on to DVD.

Asside from the DVD burner, does anyone know, what's the best software to use and will an Athlon 800 with 650MB Ram do the trick?

I think you get the best results plugging the camcorder directly into a full size DVD recorder. Thats how I done the japfest dvd and comes out good (but of course you need someone with the hardware- shame you're not Reading based).

If you do the software route- how will you be able to get the signal to your PC- have you got a TV-in card? Intervideo WinDVD recorder is ok. Have a look on http://www.e-lunatic.org as theres always a good selection of DVD utils there.

Cheers mate - Yes, I have a TV card so I usually plug it in that way. That's how I've done my Billing videos in the past.

However, the DVD burner sounds like a good option. Off to check prices.

Best option I use mate is Ulead DVD workstation 3. it's ace.

But there are several packages on the market. Including the free movie making software from M$

What you will need is either firewire if your cam supports it or a tv-in card to capture the film. one of the pinnacle jobbies should do the job.

Also Woollies (shock horror) are doing a complete DVD recorder for ยฃ179. Which means u could also use it to record stuff direct off the tv.

doh just read you have a TV card!

btw the way go to http://www.svp.co.uk cheap as fookin chips for DVD-RW's & the disks. Excellent company. I use them all the time - rapid delivery.

Cheers mate!

as above m8, easiest and best option is the stand alone dvd recorder

ive done away with videos and now use only panasonic dmr's

record thousands of times onto a ram disc no loss of quality

recently came back from holiday and diggy camcorder stuff straight onto dvd-discs

you can even put your photos on to them, and bore the shit out of everyone for hoursssssssssss lol
