If you were going to use your Z purely as a track car, would you bother insuring it if it was to be immobilized(physically i.e. wheel off or parts missing) on your drive way.

Would there be any point? Can't think of any decent reason - what about you lot?

Well it is off a public road so no!. Unless you are driving it to the track day of course :)

No - if I was to go down that route, I would be getting a trailer and transporting it with the 4x4. D)

You can buy standing insurance (or something along those lines) so it's also covered for fire, floods, vandalism, theft...

Cos,

Storage insurance costs me £70 a year.. Covered then for fire and theft, even part theft like nicking your wheels. Gotta be worth it for that.

Must say though, in all the years I spent running a race team we never insured any of our cars whilst in storage.

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

I think theres a law regarding this which could catch you out. Its says to be within a certain distance of a public road it needs to be insured. Bureaucratic :xxx: 's 15m springs to mind but I'm not sure, best check it out anyway :)

90% of track days only allow road cars only. They have to be MOTd.
