having my front and rear screen removed for spraying the car, the man from anglesey windscreens used to do all the work on the mazda 323 turbo rally car, so very soon we were chatting about the raised boost in my zed,

i told him it was raised from standard 9psi to 13.5psi.

what he said was if your in first gear flat out no mater for how long the temp in the turbo wouldent go above 300 degrees,

for second no more than about 400

and 3rd about 500

but when in top gear he said the heat would carry on building up like a compressor cos the car is under load and if its going to go bang it will be this time flat out in top gear,

intresting cos mine went when i was doing a mile sprint poped at 140mph

im running 13.5 psi and an se chip, now this man has got me thinking, i dont want to blow my engine again but i still want to piss on evos and scoobies

should i lower my boost and if so by how much, i can be quite heavy with my right foot but i want a reliable car, :hyper:

The higher the gear, the greater the load on the engine. Therefore, the more boost you'll get.

Take no notice, if you hear any noises, turn up your stereo, they'll soon go away!

LMFAO

Dewi you hooligan, you been topping the 140mph limit again?

You know that we live in the worst area for speeding with old Brunstrom watching us like hawks, reel it in big boy! Nooooo, **** it....foot down and top the 160 clicks that I hold the record for racing the shit arse cossie on the A55 on Anglesey! Yeah, what you reading coppa? **** you! LMFAO

Yeah and now they got smart bud, now they have started using cows aswell...how obvious is that? LMFAO! :)

Sorta right actually... this is all to do with 'disposable' power, you need [say] 10hp to get the car rolling anything after that is just acceleration power, with the low gearing there is infact too much power available and altho you are boosting 13lb, it is not doing the same amount of 'work'.

The key then is all to do with RPM/C, the rate at which an engine can accelerate due to its own inertia/mass.

That is why short-stroke motors are so good at stepping off the line if they are very powerful, it is why the Soarer [when rid of its Auto'box restriction circuit will outdrag any Soup turbo, the RPM/C of the short-stroke 2.5litre is so much better than the lazy 3.0litre... add to this the 'turbine effect' that can be induced into short-strokers with Turbos and you have a volitile mix.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does the "/C" represent?
