axle tramp and wheel hopping

Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on this. I recently fitted some new wheels 235 front and 265 rear. Since fitting these the car can be a bit scary at high speeds as the rear tends to skip about a fair bit.

It never skipped around before fitting the new wheels and tyres so I dont think the bushes need replacing and I have checked the shocks and they look fine.

The only thing I can think of is wheel alignment and/or tyre pressures?

Does anyone know the correct pressures for 235 / 265 tyres (guessing around 33 / 36)

Any suggestions guys?

cheers as always

I'm on the same size tyres without problems. Find 34 ish front and 36 ish rear is fine. Maybe you need to check how sound your rear shockers are and look for wear in the outer and inner HICAS rack joints. Any play there and the rear wheels want to follow ruts and camber.

If yours is UK you can handbrake up one notch at speed to put the rear shocks on stiff and see if it makes a difference. I had one stuffed soft shocker and it made the back end skip about sideways especially over manhole covers. Replaced both and sound.

Thanks for the reply mate ...

It's got to go in for an MOT this week anyways so will get someone to look at these in more detail.
