Hi,

Have been stuck with BT for a while now because there no cables laid around my way!

Just wondering if they are still the only option or are there other firms out who can supply broadband!

Are you talking about just using an ISP other than BT Openworld (or whatever they call themselves now)? If so, there are loads of ISPs you can use. Have a look at http://www.adslguide.org.uk

If you're talking about avoiding using BT's equipment completely, then I think Bulldog and Easynet are the main ones. It depends on whether either are available on your specific exchange though.

With the latest announcements of price cuts for Local Loop Unbundling, hopefully a load more ISPs will install their own equipment in a lot more exchanges and we'll get more choice and a lot cheaper too.

I would never return to aol, I used to be with them and their use of non standard programs makes leaving them and transfering files over very difficult!

Any other recommendations for broadband ISP's

im with pipex too mark - well impressed, good service, fast reliable network & well priced
