Just bought a TT Auto 2 weeks ago, already its sitting in my fooking garage cuz the something behind the dash blew and its pouring coolant into the passenger foowell, by the bucket load!

Anyone fancy comin round to take a look? I darn not touch the dash for fear that i may make things worse!

I live in Chesterfield, anyone local to me?

I agree with the Hamerite man ...

defo sounds like the heater matrix going pear.

Yeah i know it is mate, unless there is a hose behind the dash going to the matrix that has gone.

Anyway, i dare not touch, done a heater matrix before on an old Maestro, took the entire dash out!

So if anyone can help... :duffer:

Is the car misting up inside even when you have the air intake on recirculate? Could just be the drain pipe maybe inside the car when it should be protruding through the passenger side footwell into the passenger side wheel arch.

If not, defo yer heater matrix buddy, I speak from experience. Don't drive it around much more before getting it fixed as having boiling hot coolant p1$$ed all over yer feet while you're driving is not pleasant, as that's generally what happens next if you leave it! :(

real pain to do apparently can be done with dash in or out, do a search on the forums ands theres lots of for and against doing it either way, seeing as its summer u can link the in/out pipes on the back of the engine to by pass water from the matrix to keep it on the road, just could be a pain on frosty mornings tho.

What would i need to do a bypass?

have a read of this matrix basically if u look down at the back of the egine in between the bulk head there are 2 hoses from the back of the engine that go into the bulk head then to the heater core, i believe u get a pipe and join the in/out on the engine with a U shaped hose,

hth
