In Essex, was a brilliant day last year. Some fookin mad Skylines, bikes and some american muscle. A good mix of stuff going up the strip.

Be good to get some Z's there. Anyone fancy it?

NORTH WEALD (drag races & sprint course)

Location: 3 miles northeast from Epping, Essex, on A1161 (OS map ref 167/490038).

Address: North Weald Drag Strip, North Weald, London NW5 4JS.

If I'm home that weekend I may be able to go along and watch people blow up their cars !

Ok, this is getting nearer now.

Phone number for the event is 020 7845 0473. £10 admission, £15 to take part, don't know if that includes admission aswell but pretty sure thats for as many runs as you can squeeze in.

Could there be room for a Mitsibushi 3000GT... And where would i find details of the event..? is there a website you can point me to..?

Cheers

Dave

Yeah, of course, its all kinds of cars and bikes. I think the website is down but the phone number is above and ask for Tony Huck.

The number you have dialled has not been recognised..

Its just that there's a RWYB day at Santa Pod and I was planning on going to that but not if there's one just down the road!!

Do you know if they have all the timing gear..? And do time slips and all that?

Cheers

Dave

Sorry, number is 0207 485 0473. Yeah they have all the gear! not 100% on the slips? Would've thought so though.

Cool thanks for that .. Will see you there!!

Cheers

David

I thought North Weald was 0 - 60's rather than 1/4 miles ?.

Is that right ?

Well i spoke to them.. very briefly..

1. you need a helmet.

2. 200 cars max. and its 1/4 mile runs not 0-60 or at least that was the impression i was given nevertheless i have a blitz rsm so will be getting some ideas myself!

3. gates open at 0830 and signing on starts at 0900, by 1000 its generally full

4. prices as mentioned 10 quid adult entrance. 15 quid for unlimited track runs.. he reckons on 5-6 runs in a day.

5. children under 14 (?) go free..

6. you need dvla seatbelts.. never heard this term before but it means real seatbelts.

And thats about all I got out of him, once i realised you paid on the day i was happy..

no need for driving licenses.. though personally i will be taking it with me.
