Well my first day of being self employed! and think I could be rained off!

Just about to buy a 24v SDS drill.

Any of you guys used the Makita 24v. Ive always used the Bosch one but all my other tools are Makita and im very impressed with those.

Makita has bigger battery capacity and batteries are detachable but is slightly dearer. But ive never used or even seen one yet. any thoughts from you fellow electricians (plumbers builders shopfitters etc!)

Ive used the Makita and found it on par with bosch etc, had it for 2 years and hasnt let me down yet, the only one I found stood out from the named brands was DeWalt, but they are pricey :)

I favour the dewalt. I've used all three. The bosch only lasted about two months. The Makita did not have the power of the dewalt. Dewalt also comes with 2 batteries and a 1 hour charger. Not that I'm selling one of course. ;)

he's a model for shampoo ads ;)

Yeah, wash and go mate :)

I am a spark by trade, mostly benn involved in railway installation. The makita is for personal use, but I do a lot of homers as a spark, kitchen fitter, decorator, car repairer etc and hasnt let me down. It doesnt have the power of the dewalt, but it did come with two batteries and a charger and is less than half the price.
