Gah - First blast and I get trounced.

Dammit. A purple Porsche just kicked my ass. Was a Y reg 911, the thing went like a bat out of hell - really fast. My poor Z was left totally. :(

Still having had a quick butchers on Porsche's website, it seems that it may have been a 3.0 turbo with 300hp. Didn't realise the old porkers were that quick! Guess I need to tweek the Z alittle ;)

The was the old Y reg BTW.

If it had wide rear arches and a whale-tail spoiler it would be the 3.3 turbo.

They certainly do move  Pig to drive, though. I assume the roads were dry then coz the rear end on those slips easier than a ZX

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yeah - big tail spoiler and very wide. Really really moved, made me feel like I was driving a metro. Dammit. ;) Tell you what though, he wasn't hanging about round the bends either, I was hoping to catch him, but alas I'm running slicks as rear tyres at the mo!

If you've got the driving skills (like, say, Sir Tiff  ) then you could make those old porkers move round the twisties too......

I checked my car bible, the 3.3 tubby does 0-60 in 4.7 and 0-100 in 11.4

Damn fast for an old-un so don't feel bad about being done by it

Jaysus - Gotta admit that is bloody impressive for such an old car. Trust me to pick such a formidable opponant!

Thats what most people say about the Z!

LOL!! had one of those give it large with me behind, i kept up with him all the way. I think he got pissed of cos after about 15 mins of giving it large & not pulling away from me he just backed right off!!

Is yours standard though? Mine very much is :(

What do you guys reckon on a intake and Exhaust upgrade on the Z? Does it make much of a difference to real world performance? Not too interested in making the Z mega quick, but some more noise and poke wouldn't go amiss. :) My old 200sx is/was as quick as the Z, and I fancy just alittle more to distance it from the 200sx.

nah - bout 400bhp now.

intake & zorst wont make any huge difference, but they do pave the way to a boost increase - which does!! :D

I had a 200sx s13 b4 the Z, i thought it was just as

quick as the Z, but in reality it's not a patch on a Z.

I have a HKS Super drager pipe (single exit), Blitz filter.

I've recently had it chipped/boost jets. Just a completely

different car now, so much fun to drive! ;)

The 200sx had 230 odd bhp, its was really zippy. Much prefer the torque of the Z though.

The thing that has been putting me off modding it is that my car is a daily driver, and so far (touch wood) its been great. So Exhaust and Intake is probably as far as I'll go. I thought the standard Z exhaust system was quite restrictive? I was imagining a decent system would free some hp up nicely?

Tell Jezz that

Doh!! I guess he's got a 200 then?

Didn't say they were bad, just not a patch

on a Z (IMHO) (i'm backpeddaling as fast as i can :x: )

Yes he has a S13,I had one for 4 years paid 10k for it as it only had 20k miles on the clock, very good car but as you say not a patch on a Z;)

Seeing as you can get a GOOD S13 for under £2k, they

have to be the performance bargain of the year.

£'s for performance, they're unbeatable.

They just haven't got the looks/presence of a Z.

Have i backpeddalled enough yet?

for a cat back exhaust & an induction kit, i reckon on upto 30bhp, which may sound huge but on a 300bhp car you'll be hard pressed to notice!! I done mine & yes you could notice a difference, but its not gonna make you go "WOW!!", it will be a subtle little increase in power in the low-mid range.

mines a daily driver too BTW, covered 20k odd miles since i owned it :)

nah stick the boot in! :)

Top cars!

I kept up with one on the M65 until near the top of 4th - then we hit an uphill AND I had to go into 5th which did for me. Both grinning when we caught up with the traffic again and he pulled alongside me to wave!

(On stock boost I might add!)
