Had a missed call on my phone today, from a woman asking if the nissan was still for sale, sounded like a call center in the background but it could have been just someone in a busy office asking about my car on her lunch break.

Anyway, just phoned the number back and this company, car data check or something, reckon they have a couple of interested parties looking for a car of this type.

A big smell of rat came over me at this point.

Anyway they reckon for 80 quid, of which 60 is refundable when the car sells that they will be able to shift it within 7 days. I get the cheque from them for the car not the buyer, ( if there are any) some poor soul must be getting fleeced a comission rate at their end when they send the cash to this company.

Anyone used one of these companies before?

Told him id think about it

Waddya reckon

sounds like i call i had years and years ago when was selling my car - they seem to go through autotrader - complete waste of money - if they have loads of people interetsed - tell them you will be willing to pay so long as they provide the list of people and by the way you are taping the conversation.

oh ps dont sell the car - but i bet you have heard this before

Regards,

alex

Do not use them under any circumstances. They really are ar$e. The will definately not have anyone interested in your car. My mate used them, the only result was he was £80 worse off. They have been on watchdog too. They are lying :xxx: 's. Just an opinion. Also, tell them not to call you again. Otherwise they'll be on the phone to you every week.

mmmmmmmmmm, had the same when my SWB was up for sale in autotrader, sounded fishy, did not bother with them, another thing why not take the fee WHEN the car sells not before and i bet ya dont get ya £60 back,

mines not in the trader (yet), but it has gone in loot, this must be where thyve got it from.

I told him to ring back next week as i've got a few interested anyway, cant wait for him to phone back now...

cheers for the opinions.

Like everyones said, this would be a bad idea!

Seem to remember (after seeing the Watchdog program on them) that after they take your money and the car (inevitably) doesn't sell through them, they give you the opportunity to "upgrade" to something like a "gold account" with them which they say gives you an even better chance at selling your car. All utter bullsh1t of course!

Leigh.

yep, tell them you'll give them £20 when they sell the car :)

If anyone's genuinely interested in buying your car, then they'll find you! If this middle-man (woman) found you that easily, then so can a real purchaser. I have a feeling you may have trouble getting rid of these people now. Good luck tho. Steer well clear, I reckon. Take out a "advertise til sold" ad (I know X&M used to do these quite cheap) if it's taking time to sell. Or don't sell it ;)

My girlfriend and brother have both been fleeced by either this company or similar.

DON'T DO IT!!!!
