Gorgeous day  and not too busy. Had 4 runs, won them all of course ;) Beat a Rover something, a Clio Sport, a 200SX S14 and a Pulsar GTiR

Runs :-

1) React - 0.551s, 60ft - 2.334s, 1/4 mile 13.706s @ 104.20mph

2) React - 0.621s, 60ft - 2.372s, 1/4 mile 13.731s @ 104.69mph

then I took my front number plate off in the afternoon and got :-

3) React - 0.523s, 60ft - 2.286s, 1/4 mile 13.572s @ 105.54mph

4) React - 0.438s, 60ft - 2.292s, 1/4 mile 13.552s @ 106.13mph

Pretty chuffed with those, especially considering the heat and the Santa Pod mirror surface. Especially pleased about my reaction times, anything below 0.400s is a foul so run 4 is great

Great day, got a tan too ;)

Cheers

Pete

:rofl::rofl::rofl: You're dreaming out loud again ;)

Did you watch any of the SXOC Vs Fiat Coupe races?

Wasn't going to go, the Friday I was, today I couldn't be arsed in the end, and it 230 miles away LOL.

must have been a heavy numberplate!

Good times there Pete!!! Another trick is to remove the panel between the headlamps - in 35 degree plus temps, this lowered my time by 0.3 seconds LOL

Damn I thought about that but decided to myself it wouldnt work due to aerodynamics etc. Will do it next time :)

Jezz - yeah there were loads and it was very evenly matched from what I saw, Richie had his usual launching problems hehe low 13's but with a 120odd mph terminal speed

yeah he sheered the crank pulley off on his final run LOL.

Just been reading the thread on SXOC, seems like no one with big power got traction.

Does anyone take standard non-performance cars down, just for a laff, to see what they can coax out of them? Is it heavily frowned upon if you do?

Nah its mostly standardish nonperformance cars, well probably 50/50 :)

Cool. Another way of wrecking the TDI properly before trade-in then. ;)

By the way... I thought hooman beems had reaction times of 1/5 sec or so... so why is .4 a false start?

I dunno, its the same as they use for the proper drag racing. Remember the car has to react too, the reaction time is timed from the green light to the time your car rolls forward and breaks the beam across the start line. When lauching my throttle actually goes down a moment before green to take account of the heavy zed auto beast reacting too ;) The trick is not false starting lol which I've done a couple of times before :p

Of course this only matters in beating the guy next to you, not in your 1/4 mile time :)

Pete

Not the way to sell your car really is it Pete by telling everyone how often and hard you thrash it down a drag strip!!!!

.........Aah, I see your plan now!!!

Pete's expectant Mrs ; "I need some money for cots, prams, nappies, toys and some bigger clothes. Any luck selling the car yet darling?"

Pete "Nope!!!" ;)

LOL Berks, I dont really drive it much, I'm sure 4 or 5 0-100 runs at Pod every 2 or 3 weeks is far less abuse than the average zed gets, esp those that are daily drivers :)

Oh shit...sorry...I mean nah its knackered :D:D:D

So come on then Pete... how many inches do you think it will take for yours to nose in front of the TDI? :)
