Ok now I have a new noise!! -lucky me! a rattley/buzzy sort of vibrating noise from (I Think ) where the cats are. It starts at 2000 revs continues to 2500 and then goes. While it is rattling performance seems to be down but when it goes she pulls as normal.

anybody know wtf is going on - had thought it may be the cover over the cats rattling but could it be the cats breaking down??

am having them removed 2m so will see

any input gratefully received

cheers

the covers on my cat rattled like that for a while, it was rev specific too, I cut them off :)

Yep sounds like the heat shields on the cats - oh well they'll have to be removed then :D

thanks again guys youse are all a bunch of feckin geniuses (or should that be geniui!!)

They are held on by clips either end, and the seams are folded over, be careful when/ if you take em off, there is insulation in there and at best its dusty shit at worst may be some form of asbestos. Let the spanner monkeys do it for you :)
