tbh I trust no politician. & lambast the tories as much as people will, but at least they could manage the countries finances. (a bit better)

 

I see it like this:

 

Labour = local council mentality - too much wastage on things like one legged black lesbian adoption support groups. :nono:

 

Tories = Corporate mentality - ruthless & not particularly caring on how things affect individuals (see poll tax, privatisation.. etc) :mac1:

 

Lets face it do we want another term of Grimacing Tony or Incompetent Brown at the helm?

LOL it always makes me laugh when people say Labour screwed the country up. The fact of the matter is, the tories screwed it up in the first place then blame Labour for their very own **** ups. Take VAT as an example - 5% when the tories came in to power, 17.5% now - no rise since labour took over. Oh yeah and which party was it made VAT payable on everything but air - although I'm sure thats soon to follow...

I'd rather get done for speeding a few times than see the Tories get back into power!

Under Labour everything is great for a while as they spend more on schools, hospitals etc. But where do they get the money from??? they borrow it ,sell gold stores etc. And what happens when the other countries or the international monetary fund wants their cash back? taxes go up to pay for it!!! the reason it was so shit under the tories last time is they were digging them selves out of a hole created by labour!!

60% in the top bracket IIRC (which I probably don't seeing as I'm 30...)

 

But if you were lucky enough to be earning that threshold then you wouldn't have missed the money, would you? You have to ask yourself how much of your none-disposable income is taxed, and the answer is, probably not much back then. Especially with lower NI. (And both parties are guilty of cocking that up.)

 

Now 17.5% VAT... that's just silly, and inequitable in a lot of cases. In what way can train travel be considered unessential in today's commuter economy? Why is clothing essential for children but not for adults? Etc. All Tory innovations.

In fact, come to think of it most poor decisions made by Labour have been in education or home office matters. Spot the common factor.
