My dad has bought a Laptop with wireless built in.

We also have a network going through a switch where 4 computers are linked together, and I as one of the computers, act as a gateway for the internet.

How can we get the Laptop working wireless with our network? There are loads of products and I dont know which one I need.

Personally I think we just need a wireless network access point, which where a little thing plugs stright into the hub and the laptop just cominucates with it and connects straight into the hub via this access point and is essentially a part of the network.

However when I asked the sales desk, they said I needed a ASDL wireless router. But when I asked him how would the rest of the computers access it, he said they would have to be wireless too

From then on I didnt trust him.

So people who have a set up like this, what do I need? Is it just an Access Point like this?

Thanks

If iv cought the right end of the stick, then yeh all you would need is to connect the wireleff access point to the existing switch and configure the laptop to it. Wholla.

No. My dad asked in office world.

I didnt know too much about it, but I worked out that is what I needed. Then the person sait it wasnt what I needed and suggested something which I knew was wrong.

you mean .11b Goit. :)

Ideally you want an ADSL modem/router with built in wireless but as it is with your existing setup an access point will do.

Only real problem is that you have an extra box it have to faff around with and configure.

ooooof yeah ;)
