Featured Replies

York dragway is still running then? Last I heard there were rumours that it was going to have to shut because of lack of support...

Hey Timmyturbo just out of intrest but what spec rebuild are you having from SE, and did your motor go bang or did you just want more power???

I just wanted some power in any shape or form...LOL!

Nah, car was driving OK but kept cutting out when selecting gears on the Auto. Chugging at tickover aswell, Arriva in Peterborough pulled the lump and told me it was KO'd. But coz of how much they wanted to charge me for rebuild, new engine, recon etc. I decided to let Pete have it after he gave me some good quotes for rebuild work.

Then Pete got hold, I went down to see him, he said that it wasn't that bad but the top end needed some work to sort things out properly. So heads have been skimmed, ported and polished etc. Valve seats recut and all that malarky then thrown back together. Touch MDF that all will be better when it's done.

In the mean time I've been a busy bee, hoarding like a squirrel Zedkin loads of Z gadget nuts in my Z nest back home ready for the winter! So that my Z is nice and cosy in his new home(garage) when I move house in a few weeks time.

Warren asked me to list everything I've got since December ready to go on...Hmmmm, lots!!! In fact the accessories and mods probably out weigh the value of the car...which judging by recent events isn't a mean feat!

Timmyturbo what about the main ingredient!!!

{FORGED PISTONS}

Pete gave me a quote for all of this a few months ago and I want it so bad, problem is me engine is sweet seems such a shame to disturb it! guess I will just have to wait. seems a shame to go into the internals without going the full monty.LOL

Just crank up the boost a bit. You'll have great fun for a couple or weeks, a big bang, then you'll need new forged pistons ! wink.gif

Well you really, but I guess it applies to anyone with a turbo. It certainly worked for the guy with the f-off Pulsar that I met at SE last week !!!!

So do you really think I would spend all that cash and then crank the boost to an unsafe level?

Iain, not going for full on monty horses, just want a respectable BHP figure and some reliability at the same time. Not quite sure what I'll end up with once all this stuff is fitted...Mr. P???

Pete said my pistons were fine, plus I saw them meself and they looked like errr...pistony type things to me! Fine type pistony thingy's you know what I mean??? LMAO!

Pete reckons standard engine is good for about 450 bhp so know worries there, not going that far down the line...like the power loony squad!

These guyZ in the Pulsars and 200's are so mad for it you have to admire them. Was chatting to a couple of the 200 lads at SE openday, their idea of a good weekend is:-

Fit new mods like fuck off intercooler, dump valves, boost upgrades on Friday afternoon at say SE or in their own garages...

Then off to Santa Pod to try and shave a 1/4 of a second of the last time they ran, and in the process sometimes blowing the odd piston...chicken feed to these hardened draggers.

Then do it all again a few weeks later after SE has rebuilt the engines, what could be more fun than that??? REZPECT!!!

But not for me I'm afraid.

Tim,

Reckon you should end up being approx 400bhp at the crank, maybe a little more.

That'll do nicely!
