What sort of car will i get within my budget, would ideally like 17/18" alloy wheels and some engine mods. is this likely and where should i look for a 'nicely' modified one, rather than one with guages etc bolted to the dash!

You will get a good quality car for that price. Somone is always sadley selling there prized possestion on this site. I think Luke from the Zcentre imports cars. Nice one going on Ebay at the moment but its an import. Ive got one and never had any problem at all.

Good Luck!! :p

I'm not worried if it's an import, i've had an import MR2 turbo for the last 2 years, so i know the problems you can have getting parts etc!

Thats the good thing about the Z, the network for parts has increased dramaticlly; and if you do have any problems this is the best place to be. Somone on here will know :hyper: Saved my bacon many a time!!

You won't have any probs with import parts, the UK and Japanese cars are 99.999% the same.

haha - i knew it was you ! The " i've had an import MR2 turbo for the last 2 years, so i know the problems you can have getting parts etc!" gave it away !

Glad your coming over to the dark side mate

Where should i look for a nice clean 300zx, i've tried the usual, autotrader, local import centres etc?

Alex B

Do you specifically want to import one ?

Because theres usually a few for sale on here - and you can check the history by running a search on the owners name !

i do know a couple of importers - that will get you a sweet bespoke one for that sort of cash

No, i don't especially want to import one, i don't mind buying private or trade in this country.

Has anyone heard of Jap Land Auto, they've apparently got a choice of 20 zeds?

If you are in Bristol, Try Car Imports Direct- they have a grey 2+2 TT coming in May £5995, according to their web page. It has 17k miles from new. I bought my NA with 16k miles from them and I was VERY pleased with the car. I would trust them 100% on the milage. They underseal the car before you get it, and there is a bloke there who buys the cars and says if you are looking for something specific he can try and get his hands on it. They might be a little on the expensive side, but I thought it was worth it.

I was at his house last month and he had a black import on his drive that he had just got over here and he was explaining to me how it was done. Not to sure if this is a new venture for him.

Could well be ? I am over to see him next week, I am sure he'll tell me what he's been up to.

I wouldn't really buy a modded one unless its from the club.

My opinion is in general, people who have modded one, has more than likely ragged it hard, best off buying a standard one off an old chap with good s/h and has not been given a hard time. I know u can get ones like below with wheels etc, (although 1 link has a low milage standard Z) but I recon better to spend that cash on a minter.

I'd rather have a Z that was standard and went than one with 19" rims that had a ****ed gear box / turbos etc and sat in my garage soon after I bought it.

I know not everyone who mods cars raggs them, but lets be honest, most do, all of us on here are obsessed with making their Z's faster etc, and we all know we give them a fair bit of welly, how else would we know they needed to be faster!! and want to keep making them faster!!!! However people in the club look after them and take pride in them, so you'll get a better one. As for other people who arn't even interested in the club/take a keen interest in their cars are just out to ragg them and race them for show till they blow. And thats when they get rid!

I'd keep your eyes out for a mint UK Z with full S/H. I always say you never know whats happened to an import, its been in another country ffs.

Oh yeh, and take someone with you who knows Z's, a friend of mine would have bought the first one he seen if Jay hadn't gone with him, he was into the hype too much and didn't know about the cars. Saw loads advertised at like 500bhp mint etc etc, and they turned out to be complete blags. Easy for someone to advertise say a 300-350 as 600 when someone is buying one who has never owned one etc, specialy if it's their first propper sports car, it will seem v fast and they wont tell. Also someone else who knows them and isn't buying the car will give you honest opinion and not get glazed over with appearence of car etc like the buyer will. You don't want to buy shine over shit.

Cheers

p.s the last one on those links looks ok, and WTF is on the back of that green one? not anyones from here is it? looks like import from the garage, anyone recon it worth nearly 10k!???
