There are a couple of GTi-R's where I work, I think I know one of the guys...anyway...see this one everyday in the car-park on the way in.

 

Came in last week and noticed that down the front in that lovely fat empty space in the front dam he'd fitted a monsterous I/C...oh it looked the dogs beach balls!

 

So came in this week, walked on by, looked down to oggle the gorgeous Intercooler and "Noooooooo, what have you done?"...

 

Some people have style, but some definitely don't! Instead of getting some of that really nice honeycomb shaped mesh to protect it with he's obviously made a b-line for Bravo & Quebec and bought some chicken mesh! I ain't talkin' mesh with large holes, I mean mesh you can't even see through! WTF?

 

It looks horrendous!

The so called bodyshop that put my front spoiler on must buy at the same place, he used chicken wire instead!! another thing for Luke to put right!

While I was at SE last Saturday I got talking to some geezer with one of these things. Now I know nothing about them and have never really taken any notice (just thought they were some sort of Micra!). But it would seem that some of these things are 4wd 2.0l turbos and are putting out up to 400bhp !!!!! Apparantely we're talking 0-60mph in sub 4 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeez- where have I been. These are approaching bike speeds and could be starting to make TreVoR's look silly. Having said that the guy I spoke to had already blown the f*ck out of his big styleeee and needed a new gearbox, turbos, pistons (and probably subwoofers too!!!)

 

BTW this was was midnight blue and looks pretty cool/anonymous.

They are pretty lethal, even in standard guise. Basically designed as a full on Rally motor but read somewhere that they were flawed for the purpose intended! So the road got the majority instead, not a bad compromise if you ask me. Was thinking about getting shot of the Kirk and gettin' one of these babies instead! Hmmmmm!
