A big thank you to John Dixon for giving up most of his Sunday to fit my Profec E-01 boost controller, his attention to detail is just astounding, I can't recommend him highly enough, the car is just so much more fun to drive :hyper:

Best money I've spent on the car to date.

Cheers John.

Didn't get much of a chance to really boot it, but the highest it's gone to is 13.8 in 4th, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Mike, what mods are you running to handle that amount of boost?

I have, Induction, Exhaust, Chip, Greddy Intercoolers and Boost Controller.

Oh right, so the standard tubs then can take quite a bit of sh1t then!!!

I have smithys stage 1-2 jobbies fitted, what can I go to then do u think? safely?

I think you can run the standad Turbo's to 16 - 17 psi, 13.8 is well within limits.

Bloody 'ell, I have been running about 9psi on my stage 1-2 jobs for a while now, although my apexi avc-r is being fitted so its being up, well upped!!! Watch this space! ;)

Just be careful Mark, stock turbos will max out stock injectors at ~15psi, and 15psi on your turbos is much more air than 15psi on stock.

Make sure you aren't getting any det, but I'd look at getting 555's if I were you.

Is that the bigger injectors john?

Where can I get some from? Are they dear?

John, I got a HKS EVC-3 Boost controller to fit.

I can do the electrical side fine, but not sure where to plumb the 3 pipes into.

so . . . .

a. Would you get and use the air filters for the vac lines?

b. would you know how much and what type of vacumm line to buy as it came with none.

c. Where would I tap them into? Is it a big job involving removing engine parts etc?

Cheers mate

OH and if you remember you told me to replace my AFM coz you didnt think fuel temp switch was causing the problem - Been spot on mate - never run better and not broke down since :)

Pleased to hear you got it sorted Jay, your missus letting you keep it now then ?!

For the controller,

a. Personally I wouldn't bother with one on the vac line (there's no net air flow through it so it won't carry crap). You might want one on the line to the solenoid as a precaution against grit blocking it, but I didn't put one on my car - some of them are prone to cracking then you get overboost.

b. you need 3-4m of 1/4" pipe, 2x 6mm tee pieces and 2x 6mm hose joiners. Also a short length (~50cm) of 3mm vacuum hose and a suitable tee piece.

c. It's not a huge job, but you need to take the nose panel and the boost hoses off. Look on TT net for instructions there's a write up on there that will show you better than I could - it's got decent pictures.

Yup I recon Johns the man. I was in Manchester over the weekend and heard him start his car so you could hear his new exhaust.

So Mike it's no longer the slowest Z on the forum. I bet the next few weeks it's going to be the greedyest until you get used to it. Have fun mate. Hey it will handle soon as well

Yeah no longer the slowest :hyper: I had the pleasure and a drive in John's Zed, that exhaust is amazing, made from 4" pipe! It sounds absolutely superb, definitely the best sounding car I have ever heard. I don't think I could live with it though.

Here's looking forward to the springs and shocks :D

I'll go along with that but I still think the Mk 1 mustang is the best sounding car ever ever ever :D John's does sound nice though.

C'mon Mark, do it! You don't have to run it flat out all the time you know.

You starting to waver then Mark?! Go on, you know you want to ...

I'd love to have an exhaust that could sound like that when I wanted. and be subdued and suttle if I chose. No it sounds great on you car John but I'm too old for that.

You can just see me the 40 something boy racer. I'd really get the pi55 taken out of me then.

If it sounds like that you do :D
