I started my engine tonight and it sounded like the fan belt was slipping. It did it for about 5 seconds. How do I fix this? I have no idea how to do this on a Z!

Stuart,

Mine's doing the same, 'cos I've just replaced the drive belts. There's three belts you'll have to tighten - Power Steering pump, Air-Con compressor, and Alternator.

There's instructions as part of the "Timing Belt Replacement" how-to on TTnet.

12mm spanner left hand side as you look at car just back from the rad underneath after under tray removed,,loosen locking nut slightly on alternater adjusting bracket and tighten the centre bolt checking the belt as you go then re-do up the locking nut.Makes perfect sense when your under the car looking at it ...as were not at the moment it probably sounds like babble..
