If what it says is true, them I'm interested, it boasts a 10% increase in power and 70% better emissions, so if I remove the cats from my NA I should have a sizeable increase in power - and it costs £99 and they said it lasts for 30,000 miles... Got to be worth a go.

...any one got any experience of this product? I believe it's been out in Canada for a few years..

cheers

Jack

When I had my Capri, there was a couple of catalysts adverstised in the club magazine, one was called Fuel Cat. You simply had to plumb it in after the fuel pump and apparently the difference in consumption and performance was noticeable.

The technology was apparently developed in the second world war, when allied troops were getting really sh**ty quality fuel due to sanctions, so they needed something to boost the performance. American developed so there is some serious backing. Apparently it is was so successful you can run a petrol car on diesel and it will still run, maybe a little lumpy but....... The idea for the Capri's was that it could run them on unleaded fuel without damaging valves.

Anyway the Capri Club did quite a bit of investigation into them and Fuel Cat certainly appeared legit. From memory they had an guarantee certificate which insured against engine problems to cover full replacement.

The technical adviser for the club actually installed it on his minted Brooklands and checked it regularly for any problems. As far as I am aware 2 years down the line and there are still no problems.

Capris and 300's in my experience have a couple of small differences, ahem, so the big one is make sure any guarantee from the company is backed up by a certified insurance company, then check them out too, otherwise you might get shafted if it doesn't work!
