To be honest that speedo looks more like KPH not MPH/

Europe speedo's read up to 220 mph until 2001 then it cahnges to 180mph and the 01 bikes are restricted to 186mph............BOOOOOOOOOOOO

So Chunk what was the model that done over 200mph?

I have been on the back of a X-up 1100 doing 165mph and the view of everything going past is a complete blur much more than that, which is a vid camera view and thus the blur should be even worse but its not

When the busa was released it was the fastest production bike, beating the Honda blackbird, this is in 1999.

 

The speed was 202mph. But you can derestict the later bikes the same way you can the Jap 112mph limiter, If you have a big bhp busa and the right gearing the mph is pretty unstopperble............youve just gotta hang on.

 

Personally on my mate's 1600cc busa at bruntingthorpe i've seen the neesle vertically pointing down which is about 225mph, but the +- accuracy reading would make that nearer 200mph, but it was a beautiful sight, this took about half the lenght of the 2 mile runway.

just a quick question! but dont the speedo run from the frount wheel? if so how come the speedo was still riseing while he was on the back wheel?

 

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but i always thought the speedo run off the forunt on a bike.

 

 

On most modern bikes the speedo is a direct drive jobbie from the gearbox.

 

Only the Bikes like Cruisers, Scooters and some tourers now have the old cable type.

How the fook can you hold on at 240mph?!?!?

 

I have done a supposed 170 on a my old CBR6FV (slightly modded!) and I sturggled to hold the bars!!!!!!

I was speaking to the Dax as the Autosport show, they reckon they are about to get 600bhp out of a busa lump. :D, they already have 440bhp out of one.

 

Dax Rush wieghs about 400kg IIRC so @ 600bhp = 1500bhp/ton Muhahahah, about the same as F1 LOL.

 

F1 cars are 600kg & ~ 800-900bhp.

Never mind the white lines, check out the vehicles on the road next to on the left and the crossovers as you sail past.

 

My guess is that he's only doing about half the speed the speedo says. :tongue:

and the boost gauge isn't even past zero at 180mph! A truely awesome acheivement! :rofl: :rofl:

Ive seen drag busa's do a 1/4 in 5.6 secs, terminal speed of 243, so yes its genuine. I've "tried" to ride a 265 bhp turbo'd busa but saw god too many times. You guys have to remember that power to weight is the equivalent of a Zed with 1500 hp, so shut it you haters! :D

Could be genuine - they have some SUPER fast Hayabusa's over in the States and there's a reason they have had to extend that swing arm...it's got a lot of power! also the acceleration / per 1000 rpm looks fairly linear through the higher gears (bit hard to judge cos it's going so quick!).

 

You've also got to take into account that the Speedo will be reading a fair bit over. Up at the higher ranges of the counter they are always out.

 

Whatever, it's still the fastest thing this side of a 300zx TT and I would love to have a go on one!! :bow:

 

As for the question about hanging on at those speeds - the last thing you do is stick your head out from behind the shelter of the screen! It's amazing how much of yourself you can get tucked in behnd a little bit of plastic when you really want to! :D

But look at how fast the cars are going past in the opposite direction. Thats not a combined speed of over 260mph or some thing. When the needle is says its goin 200bhp, look how long it takes to go past the junction in the middle of the road. It doesnt whizz past its quite slow. Dont look at the speedo, cover it up and look at the road it doenst look fast at all, 100-130mph maybe 240+ never

OK, F1 I presume we all watch it (yes I know its boring). Well if you look at the tele does it really look like the cars are going sub 200 mph? No! Its not you on the bike its a film, its very deceptive!

I know from personal experiance just how fast busa's are :bow: , but that vid just doesn't seem right to me.
