My daughter has seen one:shock: has anyone ever had a strange encounter with a spirit?

The most frightening ones are the sounds that are recoreded.

 

I heard one from people who go to places to record sound in grave yards. 2 women are sat on a bench and you can hear birds and the winds and stuff and one woman say

 

"Did you just pull on my coat?"

 

And the other woman replies "No"

 

Then a soft childs voice says

"I did"

 

Later on the other woman said that she felt a tug on her coat at the same time.

I have had Spirit take my keys of of a key ring, more than once while in my pocket, not some clip on type but a proper one, have had them hold my arms to my chest, hit me while in bed, (a tap really).

 

I have had one walk through me, it made my whole body fizz. I often, I mean weekly have one standing by me while at home. I have also seen Spirit standing looking at me while in church, and I have watched a medium giving an address while being "used" by Spirit but I could see the spirit standing by the medium with his mouth moving, but not in time with the words of the medium, but as if he was talking in another language, asked the medium and he said the Spirit was Polish. Etc etc.

 

My son used to see his grandad and had chats with him, often the young ones see when we cant.

Mark this is the most interesting post on the thread,can you answer me a couple of questions?

Why do they allow children to see them and not always adults? Like my post said my Mum was looking up at that window and could see nothing,yet my Daughter could still see her?

 

So you must a kind of sixth sense? Not really sure how to put it :confused: when you see these spirits can others that are with you see them too?

Children are "purer" (is that spelt right), as in they have less baggage, less reasons not to believe. We, as people, collect thoughts, experiences etc as we grow, and then we tell ourselves these things cant happen, etc etc. Just look at some of the posts for proof.

When I "see" things, no one else has at that time, but I am a member of a spiritualist Church, and I am much much nearer the bottom in terms of ability that some others there. Some of this forum will laugh at me, this is OK. I really dont mind, for several reasons. One is, that I know this is how things are, I eleive that we come here many times, and when you are on your first visit, or nearly, you quite simple are not as "wise" as you will be on subsequent visits. Look at people you know who are just so calm maybe, or cleaver in ways that seem beyond what they could have learned in this life, or who can play instruments from early age etc etc, How many of us know peole who are "just so damm thick"? I call them "first timers".

And I know that one day the doubters will look back and realise they were wrong. I have heard many peoples "dead" relatives say that when they were alive they would not have given this idea the time of day, and yet here they are talking to their loved ones!

Another thing just for interest, I was diagnosed as having Rumatoid Arthritus, 2 blood test confirmed it, my mum (she did not tell me but I think I am right) cured me. No cure is available in the NHS etc, but on my six month visit my blood was 100% clear.

The Doctor was lost for words. My son los the end of his finger by sticking it in a Paraglider prop, (by accident) the hospital wanted to amputate but forgot to ask for permission during the operation. I worked on his fingers as hard as I have ever done anything, (Spiritual Healing and Prayed), 2 months after his opp, the surgeon did not believe his fingers could be so good. They are now fully healed and you would not know they had been damaged. Sorry for going on.

A lot of these night time in bed experiences can be put down to a scientifically explained problem called sleep paralysis. You body locks up and you see all sorts of strange things, hallucinations. It's happened to me and I thought I was being attacked by a ghost until I did some research into it and found out about sleep paralysis. As to the other events that happen when fully awake or when more than one person see's somthing, science can explain that also, it's mainly due to magnetic anomalies which affect part of the brain's visual and audio processing. This has been proven in the lab when magnetic forces have been applied to differant parts of the brain, people can actually hear and see things that are not there.

Homebrew, you can think what ever you want of course, but I KNOW what I know, too many things have happened to me, from me and near me for me not to believe. My arthritus for example, NO ONE can explain that away, try as they might.

This sleep paralysis is due to a chemical relased by your body when you sleep. To stop you kicking out or even getting up and moving around, your body releases a chemical which paralyses your muscles or makes them very weak. When you first wake up in the morning make a fist as tight as you can, its pathetic how weak it is, and its because of this chemical weakening the muscles still in your blood.

 

People have woken up when this chemical is still very strong in their system and it has made all their muscles litteraly go to sleep and they cant control them or makes them very weak, so weak that that they dont have the strength to lift the covers off them or even change position in the bed. After a few mins the chemical wears off and they can move again.

srrae, that is a good description of sleep paralysis as this has happened to me many times. Hallucinations with sleep paralysis is a recognised disorder with the sleep experts/doctors. I have had out of body experiences when I had sleep paralysis, it's not nice when you don't know what the f is happening to you!! Now that I know it has nothing to do with ghosts or aliiens I just go with it and it can be great fun! (and no, I don't smoke or thake anything)

Mark I have never seen anything but I have had far too many things happen to people that are close to me,to just brush the whole thing away.

 

I had an idea to take my Daughter back to that house to see if we could find the lady that she saw,but after much thought I think it could be a bad idea as if she sees it and I don't it may scare her.The welfare of my Daughter is far more important to me,just so I can see a ghost.

MAc I know what you mean about looking after your child, in my exp most, 99% maybe, of Spirit, ghosts if you like, are nice. As I said she would have past relations to look after her somewhat, and we all have guides, or helpers as some call them, these seem to come and go but for one who has chosen you, your daugter, each of us, to stay with for all of our lives. And this Spirit would also look after your daughter. Most important thing I can say to you is if you are in doubt, prey for protection. I can hear people laughing, forget them and remember it.

In my church, (the whole movement) it is believed that we as a people must move towards a more Spirtual existance, this does not mean giving upfast cars etc. But we can have all we want as long as we are "nice" too. (bit simplistic maybe).

I would never tell you what to do but you are probably more worried about your daughter seeing the lady again than she is, to your daughter it might well seem "normal", and in reality it is, it is us, the adults, who are not normal.

I think there is an objective reality out there, but I also think it's what you make of it. If someone has perceived and appercieved and believes they've seen a ghost, well, they have, as far as I'm concerned.

 

I'm not a great believer myself, but I'm old enough and wise enough to realise I might suddenly start believing if I "see" one!

 

OTOH I've lived in two allegedly haunted houses so far, and have yet to have trouble with either of them. (I was a bit spooked the first night where I am now, but I put that down to noises from the horses in the field next to me garden - not used to that!)

Like I've said on this thread. Had I not experienced what I did, I would probably LMFAO at some of these posts. I do like to think I 'm open minded and level headed. I even feel guilty of letting the lunatics out because I confessed to believing via my experience. Just adds weight to my theory. Early in our evolution , it was safer to assume that , say , a shadow is a tiger than to find out the hard way that it wasn`t a shadow . Today , if you mistake a burglar for a shadow , bad things happen .
