Just got back from Topspeed Challenge 4 at RAF Woodbridge, what a great day. Had lots of 1/4 mile runs and 3 top speed runs.

 

Best 1/4 mile was 13.40@106.9mph which is a new PB :dance: Much better grip than at Santa Pod

 

1/4 mile runs

Beat a Sierra Cossie

Beat an S13

Beat an RX-7

Beat a Misti GTO, sorry whupped a GTO's candy ass, will sort a video out when I get round to it, very funny!

Beat a MANUAL 300ZXTT, running the same power :D Autos rule :bow:

 

Lost to the Norris Designs Evo :eek::D

Lost to an RX-7

 

Got some wicked footage as passengers were allowed, cheers to Devil136 ;)

 

Top speed runs

1. 152mph with lardy passenger :D

2. 155mph :cool:

3. 154mph in the pouring rain :rofl:

The highest mph run when I last asked was a skyline with high 170s, and a GT2 close behind. That was before the Norris Evo ran, so we'll have to wait for the official results sheet for that and the 1/4 miles.

Pete was scary. Sat in line waiting for his turn, smoking the rear tyres, and carrying a passenger... Very cool. I'm bias, but it looked like the only competition he had was from the Norris Evo and a couple of skylines.

 

It was an excellent day, very informal, good people to talk to, from all over the country, and some useful contacts.

 

...and the black Z with the purple nose should have won a prize...

Thanks mate, was a really good day. Richie got things a bit more organised, so it was good seeing car vs car. The times yourself and JD got were better than my quarters I got last year, (i'me crap at gear changes).

 

Would be good to see a lot more zeds turn up next time, so we can dwarf the pack of Scooby's that turned up. :rofl:

 

Burgers were excellent, if that would entice anyone to turn up to the next one :cool:

 

I shall compete next time, whatever I'me in as well, hopefully still my Zed.

I was well chuffed at my 155mph topspeed, especially as the marker was at 1.1miles not 1.7 miles as people had said. Cant wait for the results spreadsheet, just off over to sxoc.com to see if its ready yet...

Nice runs mate. Did your Zed top out at 155 or was it still accelerating?

Was still accelerating, albeit slowly, I think it would take another couple of mile to top out lol. The fun bit was stopping on the first run, I took so much speed through the turnoff I though I was gonna spin lol, was a bit more prepared the other times :D
