How to approach Terrorism the right way...

 

Someone on TT.net posted this up, I tend to agree with what this guy is suggesting. If it is found that Usama Bin Laden is connected, they should basically take action at Afghanistan seeing as they've been harbouring him all these years.

 

Taliban must know about his training camps etc. So they are no longer an innocent party, but co-conspiriators and should be treated as such!

 

This is not looking good!!!

I havent read this link Tim, but what I find even more disturbing is that Pakistan recognise The Taliban as legitimate government of Afghanistan, therefore they are in some way symapthetic to Osama Bin Laden.

Pakistan has Nuclear Weapons.

And if someone was to try this kind of devastation upon Israel then I am sure we will see the use of Nuclear Weapons.

These are far more dangerous times than cold war.

If you want me I'll be hiding under the kitchen table reading 'protect and survive'

I quite agree with the link and Glen.

I am particularly worried living in Harrogate only a mile from Menwith Hill the worlds biggest spy base and it's American - it's classed as U.S soil. You've probably seen the golf ball type radar domes on TV. I would get a missile on my head for sure. It is going to be developed further as part of the new missile defense system the U.S are working on.

I have a few friends who work there and can't even tell me what they do under the official secrets act. (probably cleaners or something!) LOL

Lots of big Yank Tanks drive around here, they get fuel at U.S prices and their own McDonalds the lucky gits.

The gut who runs the site below has been poking round their systems with interesting results.

Shit this sort of thing makes it difficult for a upstanding, Guardian-reading chap like me.

On the one hand I am with Mark Thomas, flying his hot air balloon over Menwith Hill and getting nicked by the US Military, Oh how we laughed at Mark and his anti-American practical joke hohoho

And then Taliban backed fucking psychos slam two 767's into New York and kill 30000 people. And you think to yourself... well these people are mad, they dont respond to rational discussion, the only way to stop them is with intelligence.

And you get right back to Menwith Hill.

I am not a Military man, I would even concientiously object, but public opinion is going to swing back to the US way of doing things and the frightening thing is my opinion is going that way too.

The world changed on Tuesday 11, 9am Eastern, and I'm not sure it changed for the safer

It is only a matter of Geography and money. If (when) Africa (not as a continent but a collection of countries) becomes sophisticated and wealthy enough, then you can guarantee that the problems in the Middle East will be nothing compared to the God-awful uprising we will see from Africa.

I think I might go for a long drive in my Zed tomorrow to see my wife and kids.

I saw that Mark Thomas thing and it was so funny. They are so used to CND and others raiding the place I don't think they quite knew what to do. I don't know why it's called RAF Menwith Hill when it's U.S - i'm sure the air bases are all called USAF whatever.

It worries me that they are on my doorstep but it's got to be somewhere and it serves a very important purpose.

Thats why i've got a Z - to get to scotland as fast as i can in the event of nuclear war!

 

With the UK saying that we will support the US all the way this may also mean that any assalt on Afghanistan will be from the UK from the many US bases here. Then, any retaliaton by Afghanistan will then not be on America nearly on the other side of the world to them, but on the US bases at home. Any planes coming over to Britain will be shot down by the RAF and then they will say they we attacked their planes for no apparent reason, and we will then have to send in Milwall fans into Afghanistan to find and kill every one involved
