As some of you know i've been in hospital for another op on my leg, and my Z has been sitting in the garage for over 3 weeks untouched.

I have read that a few of you have had trouble starting your Z's after a week of so, so you can imagine how much i was shitting it when my mate turned the key. But i had no need to worry as it started first turn.

God i love my Z, just want to be able to drive it, only 2 and a half months to go..........:(

My VW Passat (Daily driver) on the other hand needed a battery pack to get started.........Piece of shite........... :p

Very long story, short.

March 21st 2003 i had a motorbike accident. I've had 10 ops on my left leg so far. The latest one i have had a external fixator fitted around my thigh. It all went well , but it's not very comfy.

Gotta get the Z serviced and new plugs soon, I'd try and start the Z every few days if i were you also take it for a couple of mile drive, keep everything nice and lubed.

Hoping to be at the Midland meet 27th March so you all can take the pi$$ out of me.........

Rich :)

Glad you got it started!

You've got an external fixator haven't you? You'll have to start thinking of some creative ways of incorporating it into your Z once it's off! Mounting brackets for some shiny bits? :)

I used to have a couple of huge stainless steel 'nails' that ran the length of my femur. I thought about using one as a rear brake caliper brace on my bike, but then I bought a GSX-R750 and then a Fireblade, neither of which has a bracing arm. Maybe I should have gone retro and bought an old Z650! :)

Good luck matey!!

LOL, I,ve got an elizorof (sp) external fixator so the difference is it's got 6 adjustors on it, so hopefully i will be able to make something out of it.

It is all made out of titanium so maybe MAC might want to buy a few bits off me for lightweight bits for his Z.

I also had 10 pins and 1 fooking great big pin in my upper leg and knee, i'm still thinking what i can do with them. ;)

Cheers mate for the best wishies

Rich

Nothing wrong with a z650!

I'm showing my age I know but I had a lot of fun on (and off) mine.

Hope your recovery continues Chunk, and is as painless as possible.

There's always lubrication if it starts to chafe... :duffer:

I miss mine too after some scab decided to break into my garage and steal my GSXR750 and then torch my garage with my GPZ600R still in it.
