Thought these things were meant to filter out false alarms from petrol stations and traffic lights etc.

Maybe I should have gone for the Bell?

Well.. mine doesn't... Thing is - how can it? They're on the K band as well as Gatso's.. It can only filter out stuff like traffic lights that are on the Ka band (which it turns off in Logic mode 3)...

Mmm! I haven't had any Ka band false alarms because it switched that mode off as you say. My local traffic light and petrol stations seem to give off K band loke the Gatso's ?1?

Also, how do you surmount to Gatso's with induction loops and no radar? I have 4 of these within a 2 mile radius of my place. Maybe spend £380 on the sat linked version smile.gif

I read somewhere that you could filter out X-band aswell, but that might of been on the Bell Euro! I saw that on the Supra BBS I think.

;-)

I got the Bel Euro and it picks up petrol stations (or anything else with automatic doors) pretty well too. Traffic lights haven't been a problem though.

I've had a couple of Bell detectors and they all give false alarms. There's no way they can tell whether it's a gatso or an automatic door.

I know most traffic lights are not on K band so try to dissable whichever band it is - I think they were on X from memory.

On my Bell I only have K and Laser selected.

I think by default that Logic mode 3 has Ka and X disabled - but like people say, most auto doors work on the K band.. Theres no way for the unit to distinguish unfortunately..

I think *any* radar based unit will have this problem..

And on the inductive loop cameras - yer buggered.. Unless, like you say, you get a Geodesy (or however you spell that!) system that works off GPS..

Steve,

I used my S5 for the first time in the 300 yesterday. Still get false alarms, next I will compare it to my very old snooper to see how good this unit it.

When are you lot going to realize the guys making these detectors are the same people setting up the traafic lights and cameras and all that

(im way to superststious to get one lol)

Did you know that Tony Blair has shares in Bell and Gatso?

LOL

It's a conspiracy...
