Same happened with my 240Z of many moons ago. The damn things dont retract fully unless you get out and help them. Is there an easy fix or must you get a new one?

Tried that! Made it all slippery but still had to shove it in. Never works the way its supposed to!

Its very easy to replace. Under the retaining nut at the base of the aerial. Turn on the stereo and just keep pulling until the whole lot comes out including the nylon toothed thingy. Take the new aerial and smeer vacaline or similar over the nylon thingy turn off the stereo and feed the new aerial in at the same time. It is easier with two people. It is worth changing the little rubber seal at the same time because the old one will be a bastard to fit.

Hope this helps

ok so while we're talking about aerials, I've got one on me near side bumper- why ?

to help parking? has a green light thingy on top too but doesn't seem to light up and not sure if it's sposed to... only thing though the bloody thing wont go down if I ever press that button !

That'll be one of those silly Jap parking things then, due to the absurdly small spaces left in Tokyo etc.
