Right got offered a new job today but i have the following decision to make:

Stay where i am on a low basic wage but very high commision and the ability to earn what i want. The industry is one of the hardest there is and i work long hours and do alot of traveling

or

Move to alot higher basic low commision paid yearly and is limited. The job sounds easier and is working from home so lots less hours and traveling.

The question is do i stick with what i know and have the potential to earn alot or change companies to a bigger better company with more prospects but the earnings are capped.

Need to make a choice by next week

Bigger company. Does that mean more chance of moving up?

Yep and i do get a better package, health, pension etc

I would jump at the chance its just that with my present job if you have a stonkin month you can earn mega bucks but the new one that will never happen but with my present job its inconsistant so on a flat month i struggle???

Mike

So on a flat month you will struggle?

Whast happens if you are ill for a few weeks? Happens if you have an accident? Brake your leg and cant drive?

Sorry to be a downer, you have to think about these things.

Another thing mate, health care is fantastic. We have it here. For example some one really did his knee in playing football. Went to the doctor and there was a 4 month waiting list to see the specialist who would then say whether he needed surgery, and then its on the waiting list for that.

He then went through the works health plan. He saw the specialist that week and has the op the next week. About 2 weeks from telling work he wanted to use it, to having the op.

Seems you need to peg this against the performance of the industry you're in Mate. High commission based earnings suck in a recession, but are nice to have in a boom.

..and then again, maybe you could quit work and go onto one of the learn direct English courses to get a grip of the correct spelling of ADVICE? :nono:

swings and roundabouts, job security and stuff is one thing, but job satisfaction doesnt pay the bills.

what do you sell out of interest

Basically i sell office equipment mainly copiers and printers etc but more into archiving etc now and other software.

The only reason i would stay with my present company is that i have lots of things on at the moment that could earn me lots of lolly and if i leave my scumbag manager will stroll in and nick them.

I dont know why cant the wife earn enough so i can be a bum

second option sounds best 2 me, as you shud have a better work/life balance and still have decent pay.

Lots less hours and travelling sounds like a really good thing to me, but we are all different.
